Beautiful Borough Project

Updated: Oct 2, 2020

We were founded in 2007, and our aim is to encourage people to take responsibility for keeping their neighbourhood clean and safe, helping educate to ensure that it stays that way.

✓ Help create a clean community

✓ Improve community spirit

✓ Create a safer neighbourhood

✓ Make people healthier

Our “Beautiful Boroughs Project” operates in 12 London boroughs; Barking and Dagenham, Camden, Enfield, Greenwich, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Lewisham, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. Our “Beautiful Birmingham Project” operates in 5 wards of Birmingham; Bordesley Green, Kingstanding, Shard End, Sparkbrook & Balsall Heath East & Aston.

Our local Coordinators help people come together in these areas to form groups to keep their neighbourhoods clean and safe, complementing (rather than substituting) their local authority’s statutory responsibility and bringing about a change in litterers’ behaviour.
