St Michael’s school believes that in order to develop the leader of tomorrow our curriculum is designed to develop the skills children need for later life. Obviously, high standards of literacy and numeracy are important but so are self-discipline, empathy, motivation and resilience. Children are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and to develop skills which will make them better learners in the future.
We work very hard at St. Michael’s but we also believe that learning should be fun! As well as the essentials of the National Curriculum, our curriculum covers many wider areas of learning. With a view to our desire for our children to be leaders of tomorrow, we place a lot of emphasis on Music, Performing Arts and PE and use these as opportunities to develop poise and confidence.
They are passionately interested in climate change and have produced a video about it.
